Group Tours of the Veen Observatory

Is you church/school/scout group etc., interested in an evening of family friendly fun featuring wonderful views of the Universe at a premiere educational institution? If so, why not visit the Veen Observatory?

The James C. Veen Observatory, owned and operated by the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association, is available for group tours most of the year (mid-March through mid-November).

These evenings feature tours of the observatory, audio visual presentations, observing of stars, planets, and other astronomical objects through the large telescopes. There are also opportunities for Q&A sessions with local astronomers.

Please read the information provided in the links below, and if there is something that is not answered, contact us here at

Members of the GRAAA will be on hand as guides. There will be tours of the facilities, audio-visual presentations, and observing through the observatory telescopes.
